Well, here's a story! Possibly built between the 1860's - 1870's, this house became a place of lodging when the Enola low grade Railroad was built. Four acres lie between the current track and the Upper Valley road. it a place that is active with deer and other wildlife. The house has thick stone walls that create the deep, deep windows sills. Back in the day, they curved the walls at the windows to let in more natural light. Originally no indoor plumbing, and it still creates the setting of simple living, though there are two wells and two septic systems.
Enter the house at the back side. The large new patio will greet you. 15 x 35 with a part of it covered. That's where you find the original hand dug, stone lined well. Use caution when you lift the board to look. Bring out the old hand pump if those old things make your nostalgia blossom. The kitchen is on the lower level, an off to one side is the main bedroom. The stone has been exposed and pointed.
The quarter turn stairs takes you to the next level. The living room has an outside entrance and also several windows for natural light and an excellent view of the yard. The bathroom is huge and all the necessities are tucked into one corner.
The third floor has 2 bedrooms and a pass through bonus room that could be the 4th bedroom.
The furnace, roof, patio and hot water heater are new within 2 years. The kitchen floor about 8 years old.
There is a septic tank on the east side that receives from the bathroom. On the west side of the house, a drain pipe disperses the grey water from the kitchen sink, only. The new well was dug after the shallow one had dried up a second time during ownership.
The Blue shed will stay with the property.
Oh yes, there is the Summer house. It measures about 16 x 12 (outside measurements), currently used for storage. Enter it carefully.
